Subject: smokin' hot!
A smokin hot show on a cold day. These guys played their ASSES off! I was lucky to be there. I've become a Cornmeal fan. For rock & roll jamgrass they're the best I've heard. They told me that for these shows in Traverse City Melvin played the most solos they've seen on this tour.

Subject: Nice show!
Good to see Melvin represented here...This show is hot with good energy, and sounds good, though the vocals are a bit hot in the mix. I agree that this band is better then the previous post-jerry JGB lineups, except the recent lineup with Stu Allen and Marty Holland. Stu's voice is more soulful for the ballads and pushes 'those buttons' better for me. This gig has two guitars, which is a different and cool take on things, though.
Regardless, bring any and all of it on!!!

Subject: Sweet Show
This was a hot show on the coldest night in Michigan in eight years. The band was right on, and there were only a couple hundred people so there was plenty of room to dance and generally wig. The recording is crisp and well-balanced. Melvin seemed to really enjoy the venue and the crowd. The opening band "Rootstand" was excellent as well. Another band, "Covert Operation," played before them but I missed it.
The Opera House is an amazing newly-restored venue originally designed with dancing in mind, and it was a great experience to hear this type of music there. I hope Melvin continues to play in Michigan. It's always a treat to see him, and I actually thought this ensemble put out more energy than the (post-Jerry) JGB.
As always, thanks to the LMA for hosting and to Kris for upping. It was cool to hear this again so soon after the show, especially in this quality!
Some great fishing here in Michigan, Melvin! Come on back when it's not so darn cold!

Its great to see Melvin's stuff on the Archive, and what a great way to start. Sound quality is great, and the music is stellar. The guys from Cornmeal impress me with everything they do, and playin with Melvin brings them out nicely. Ide love to see Wavy play that bass. YEEHAW!!!
Thanks for the upload Kris, see ya Wednesday ;-)
