Subject: Close to excellence
First of all, I love short noise records. With this one i can distinctly hear the unique styles of each of the artists, chefkirk with his loop based frequency manipulations and carl kruger with cassette and fm manipulations. They make a great team, their other release ibiza shock troops is great proof of that as well. This record exudes with beautiful texture and colorful lo-fi tones, something i think is really hard to accomplish when your source is the internal feedback of your mixer or the lo-quality of cassettes, but they manage to do it with really unique ways of using the stereo field to create dementions. the shortness of this record and especially the ending, which i didn't really like, made me want more to satisfy my craving... it's not that it wasn't enough, it was just so good it kept my imagination going to the end, i was wondering what possibly could come next.

Subject: Disappointing
Interrupted noises, frequencies, interferences, radio transmissions and other monotonous sounds applied with more or less skill. The final result is not as satisfactory as one would wish from these noisicians.
