Subject: Milieu
Awesome review! Milieu is top! I just got an email saying that there was a review here. I started this label with high hopes at the time but haven't updated it since the first three releases.
http://milieu.experimedia.net/ is his homepage. He released a few cdrs overseas on the ucover label. He also has a store http://milieu.ropeswingcities.com/order.html where the cds are handlabeled.

Subject: nf8, the mystery among enigmas
i'd be neterested to hear news from anyone on NF8, if it existed beyond this release. i've always enjoyed milieu's output, including the stuff he's submitted to project168! and i think i saw something over @ experimedia about him quitting, or not quitting, or changing aliases, or something. enough lore.
nimbus, pileus, and trobos are all great tracks that live up to the enviornment/setting noun and then some.
tropos is the most tripped out, fans of coil's dancier material will dig right into this ... washy textures for a smooth bass to funk around on. the beat is solid and dance-floor-able but a far cry from tedious 909/808 techno brainbore, mostly processed organic sounds. yum.
the other two tracks i mentioned have a similar drum kit, proccessed acoustics. nimbus adds a goofy edge to everything enjoyable about trobos, it's fun.
pileus drops the fuzzy pads for some harmonic stabs, the result is a very clean and open space, you're up in the clouds instead of drudging around on mushrooms in mud. think select ambient works by aphex twin, but even more amiga-y ... i think i love this track so much because it reminds me of the name-entry ch00n in LEANDER by 4mat (published by psygnosis on amiga and genesis).
a few more gems from milieu, where ever he is now ;)
