One of my favorites
Some of the production is a little over-the-top, but compositionally this is such a great release. Neat-o. neat-O.

taking it to the next level
Combining the dirtiness of audio distortions with the surgical cleanliness of digital editing represents, to me, a pursuit of the evolution of musical expression. And as far as I'm concerned, it's beautiful. I would recommend this to any and all of my friends.

too cool
I try to listen to as much of the staff recommendations as possible and I download whatever intrigues me. This was a must-have dowload, quite honestly. I'm new to this particular genre of music so I have little to compare it to. However, I found it so very soothing yet oftentimes startling, never really blending into the background as much as other instrumental music often does. This is a good thing, to my mind.
The only criticism I have is the quality of some of the guitar tones on this ep: I am a guitarist so maybe I'm too particular. But sometimes the distorted guitar tones didn't have the organic feel that the rest of the cohesive instruments did. Otherwise, would have been 4 and 1/2 stars.
Lastly, although I love the Internet Archive, would it be too much of a problem to have the artist's own webpage links posted? I searched for this "band" but found at least two separate groups calling themselves "Colophon".

Pretty cool stuff
I enjoyed it (have listend to the first 3 tracks now). For me the reference points would be something like autechre meets Godspeed You black emperor!.
You can take that as a compliment :).
ON a side note i thought that some of the digital distortion was overdone, but that could be the crappy closed back headphones im listening to now... (rating 3 for now, until i listen to the whole album, i might change my mind).
