Subject: If you know about Chico you know this show is HOT!
A bunch of the Bay Area Monsooniacs were in attendance for this show. Unfortunately for me I wasn't one of them. However this recording provides a glimps into the energy of the performance. The more I listen to it the more I like it. I'm listening to it as I type. The instrumental jam that goes into Trust In Me is great, then coming out of Trust In Me they go back into a melting mode, almost a reprise of the jam that led into it.

Spanish Moon is good, but then it get's interesting as Jeff starts to move away from the Little Feat version with some changes in vocals and tempo.

Of course Country Interlude gets out there as usuall with all the power of any set closer. I think of Country Interlude kind of like JGB's Don't Let Go. A song that starts out simple but at some point it slips off into a schwirly space that can feel like the Starship Enterprise going WARP!

There are some sound level problems in a couple places. But it's nothing to get hung up about. The overall sound quality is great. Very full and clean.

I say down load this sucka! as well as the second night of this two night run 2-18-2006

Notes

NOTE: recordings from the two Chico shows had to be "attenuated to prevent overdriving" (on-site in real time by Dr. NO) so the sound levels change dramatically at about 6 minutes into the first set on night 1 (2/17) and remained at those very low levels throught the two night run. Track 1 (Border Ghost) was normalized first and then levels still had to be adjusted for the last part of that track where the attenuation began.
Dr Alan's highlights: D1: T 2, 3, 5, 6
Downstream was hot. A brief level bump at 4:45 on Jeff's guitar. Sounded like the sound guy was tweaking several knobs around this time.

1) Very cool. sort of Dear Prudence meets Mind Left Your Body--VERY cool)
2) Nice spacy Jam
3) (Dedication to Rajiv)
4) sound glitches on original discs from Masterlink

Rajiv was absent. Had to deal with a family emergency.
