Cal Crawford's online debut, this recording under the name of Speech.fake packs some serious punch. Each of these 8 tracks is a tense microuniverse peopled with the acute sense of narrative this composer is well known for. A word of caution: some of these are particularly oppressive, unlike Crawford's rather more serene subsequent output.
