Mongrel began life as a synthetic initiative performing brilliantly executed songs with quirky edges. Unlike Humdrum, Mongrel's legacy languishes somewhere between there and then with no sign of them ever being considered "hip." Not to say that that is his fault! Arjen made his fascinating Mongrel debut, Pummel, on a low budget, and his magic was already in place. It is plainly obvious that, no matter how uncommercial a particular song may be, the boy in Mongrel put his heart and soul into it, creating something uniquely his own, and building upon it.
