In Getty copy the folded plate is bound in at the end, rather than following p. 204 as directed in the plate's legend
Binding: later vellum. Author and date written on spine
On verso of front free endpaper (preserved from an earlier binding) is ownership inscription of Ugo, conte Gherardesca. At foot of ã3r is three-line ownership inscription in brown ink of: D. Stephanus Florentinus. A single-line ownership inscription by Stephanus in green ink appears on the t.p. below the title proper (now lined out). Elements of t.p. border, historiated initial on ã2r, and printer's device at end have been picked out in the same green color
The first separate ed. of this part of Fine's Protomathesis, perhaps printed for Cavellat by Benoît Prévost; see Mortimer
Title within ornamental border, incorporating Cavellat's device of a hen, which also appears above the imprint on t.p. and in a larger version on ²E4v at end. Numerous woodcut ill., adapted from Finé's Protomathesis of 1532; see Mortimer. Tables. Grotesque and floriated initials. Head-pieces, ornaments
Mortimer, R. French 16th-cent.
