Subject: Lovely show
I'm the taper of this show and, first off, thanks to the uploader - I'm glad to see so many people getting the chance to hear this recording. This is one of my best (hence my *brazen, audacious, shameless* five-star rating ;-) ) - the Patio could be a great-sounding venue when the crowd was polite - low ceiling, no echo (but too much smoke),... Too bad it exists no longer.

This recording captures Over the Rhine's live sound perfectly, to my ear (or at least to within the limitations of the mics). "This is Not Goodbye" could/should have been a Big Radio Single - it reallly breathes live - though "Ohio" and "Jack's Valentine" are the highlights of the show for me.

I've loved this band since the first time I saw them, March (8th? 9th?), 1992, at Sudsy Malone's in Cincinnati - right around the release of Til We Have Faces - anybody have any early recordings?

Notes

From the taper: Here's the second of my Over the Rhine tapes, same venue as the previous, just sitting a few feet further back. The vocals came through better in this one.

Karin Bergquist - sings, occasional acoustic guitar, keyboard on Ohio
Linford Detweiler - keyboards, vocals on Jack's Valentine
Jack Henderson - guitar, vocals on Holy Rain
Wade Jaynes - bass
Dale Baker - drums
Kim Taylor - guest on (+)
Mike Sponarski - sound
