An updated version of this fileset is at http://www.archive.org/details/paf2008-05-13.neumann.91865.flac16
Perhaps comments could be merged and this one deleted? (Checksums are identical) I sure wish the archive made it easier to distinguish b/w all the recording variations available for any given show (unique sources, remasters/retransfers, matrices, DTS, DVD-A, and 24-bit mixes, SBE fixes, and other minor fileset alterations). I'm imagining some sort of "tree" structure with different mic sources at the top of the hierarchy, followed by retransfers, remasters, and fixes. At the bottom would be format variations like FLAC/SHN, DTS and DVD-A. The whole thing might appropriately be called an "e-tree". ;-)

I was at this show and it was a great night. From the smokin' golden road to the inspired sitting on top (Larry on Fiddle) to the unimagined Cream Puff War with Bobby and Dancers and the realization of seeing the first album start to finish the first set was simply a thrill ride. Second set just as satisfying, even more so in some ways hearing songs that I never expected to in Born Cross Eyed, Alligator and the powerful Caution. Listeners Enjoy!
But the huge thanks here go to the tapers and folks who post these shows. It is such a pleasure to listen to a show I just saw, especially one this good. Nothing left to do but Smile Smile SMILE!

Rosemary is responsible for this being available
http://rosemary.dyndns.org/
and says
Funniest line from the peanut gallery behind the tapers last night: “You been bootlegged on archive!” I paid little mind to this then- as it is true folks cross-post my recordings in different transfer mediums, and I respect that.
But when cross-posting, first-thing, the poster generally performs a citation – a line like: “This recording was downloaded via bittorrent from http://rosemary.dyndns.org, and is provided here for those who cannot bittorrent”.
This was not done for either of these recordings; moreover there is no mention of the download source at all (save for buried in the .txt files I wrote). That’s a bummer. I put a huge amount of time, effort, energy, heart & soul into making this rosemary site available, super-eco-friendly (rosemary kicks archives’ ass in terms of resource consumption), a positive & open community resource and sounding box -- as well as post-processing those recordings pronto to sound nice & get them online.
Well, the 16th sounds as good as the others & is ready to roll- but I’m not posting it until I see something change over on archive about this circumstance w/ the other two.

IMO these are some of the best Phil shows around. Also I would like to comment that this is the second Phil show with Bob this year that I know of. I wonder if there is a tour in the works. Remember the 2002 Bonnaroo. Phil with special guest Bob Weir and those Crusader Rabbit shows. One can dream right?

Though the band was unrehearsed they tackle every song with passion and frenzy. Bobby joins them and gives the entire proceedings a noticable boost. A decently strong show from the very first note and a most especially decent recording. Very thankful to have this.

This was the newest and freshest thing I've heard from these guys in years - playing the first two albums in their entirety, with some really nice arrangements. The two guitarists, Larry Campbell and Jackie Green, were super high energy. When Bob came on for Creampuff War, the place went nuts. Should also mention that two beautiful go-go girls came on during that song and danced wildly while confetti rained down from the ceiling. Wow, what a show!

wow . . . never thought the boyz would go for these industry modes, but hey, it's great stuff!
phil's making a statement here for the impending brown out during the warfield's upcoming owner transfer/renovations thing. (speaking of brown, will he bring out big brown for a "mars hotel" performance?)
makes everyone wonder what's coming up this weekend. very cool vibe all around: this is not a recreation, and it definitely IS reinterpretation as there are different hands on hand.
thanks for the speedy ups! too cool. (phil always brings the shiznaz.)
