Subject: Why is this in genre "Americana"
as it is clearly British. The Penny Cyclopaedia was put out by a charitable type of society in England, to help educated the middle and poorer classes.
I am terrified to download it as it's "Digitized by Google" that manage to mangle and destroy any legibility from any texts whatsoever. Every- yes, every, file I've gotten that Google imaged has at least 3 entire pgs of: LLI(*E(U&T %()()(@@)*)*)I VVVVVVA V. Yes, complete jibberish, and in especial chapters or pages you are particularly interested in reading. Or, images of illustrations are replaced with the code, instead of the actual illustration.
