"Perhaps one of the three copies ... made in ... the year 50 before Christ ... discovered by Konstantinos Simonides, by whom it is specially pub. now for the first time ... In addition to it there are added the Thēban fragment of papyrus which contains a synoptical history of two-and-twenty kings of Karchēdōn ... a small fragment of Androsthenes ... from the third book of his Oekistika ... and another of an unknown author, perhaps of Diotimos ... both written on one piece of papyrus, some years before Christ; and in addition to these, some other historical relic of an unknown author."
