pert near sandstone headlined this show at the hexagon in st. paul on a saturday night. lonesome dan kase and the front porch swingin liquor pigs played earlier in this authentic old time / blues / bluegrass / acoustic show. it was the first show since the st. paul smoking ban took effect in 2005 that pert near sandstone played. the last time pert near was there the place was thick with smoke, but this time it was clear skies. it was quite a difference and kevin mentions the smoking ban in this show. it was also the first time ryan used his new fiddle mic. it worked out pretty well. this show's music quality and sound quality is great, and they especially rock out at the end of the set - you gotta check it out.
