i'd been hearing raves about PGroove for months, but never found the time to listen to them until Rothbury... and you can hear the results. ridiculous, frenzied, and classy all at once. brock boldly leads his mates into the depths of space and back out again, song after song.
this set was some of the first evidence of the unprecedented energy that Rothbury was able to wrench from the souls of every musician to grace its stages, producing what many believe to be the most fulfilling festival and musical touchstone since the original Woodstock. awesome sound, awesome stuff.
um, yeah, so... download it. you won't regret it.

What a way to kick-off a fantastic festival. P-Groove definitely ripped it! They threw down the proverbial gauntlet, like they were out there with something to prove, which they probably were. Was wondering what they'd be like with Hruby,,,just fine I'd say now. They built songs to ridiculous peaks, then would turn those jams on a dime back into the next verse. One of my most anticipated shows for the fest, and one of my top 3 afterwards. The sound quality is what it is, but I'm listening to it now with a big smile. My wife & I were dancing our butts off beside the soundboard just to the side of the tapers. Thanks so much for capturing this.

There were so many highlights at Rothbury, but having P Groove come up to Michigan and slay the crowd on Thursday was special. My favorite show of the festival.
The recording is not as clean as many others on the Archive, but the song selection and playing is top-notch. The band proved strong as ever with John on keys.

this was by far the best festival of the 00's. totally worth the trip from georgia. so i ran into adam and john (the new keyboardist) right before bisco hit the stage and got to talk for a while. john is definately stoked about joining the band. can't wait for this new era of pgroove. and how bout that teakwood. see you at the masquerade.
