It doesn't happen very often, but every once in a while you have pure luck. And for me, this would be one of those times. Finding new, fresh, hip music can be really difficult. Kind of like looking for Salimanders. ???? I'll explain... When hunting for salimanders, like looking for new music, sometimes you have to look under hundreds of rocks before you get lucky. And I gotta tell you , you may want to take a look under this rock. Super catchy rifts , very hip lyrics and raspy vocals, and solid bongo fury. A perfect mix of up beat jams and slow ballad type stuff makes this a very listenable piece of work. Hope you give it a listen. Pure Grain just might be todays pure luck for you!

Sound quality is really nice, it's from the house SBD. Only drag is that some instruments aren't mixed well. The vocals are too high and the djembe (percussion) is very low / not mic'd well. the guitar sounds okay but i'd like a better overall mix. But there is no crowd noise! 3.5 stars / 5.
Show quality: I had never heard of this band before today. I've started to grab shows that have streaming abilities from the 'this day in history' box on the front page of the archive, and today is Feb. 23. This sounds like a real fun bar band. It's a raspy older male singer (who also is playing the guitar I think). Great short set of music (the whole show is only 29 minutes) but it has a lot of fun in it. Sounda kinda like Buddy Guy, and the voice is sorta like Bruce Springsteen. It sounds like a great fun band to see at your local blues club while ever everyone dances / grooves to the tunes.
