I remember this show as one of the best, if not the best I've seen. Saw Phil this Halloween, and about 8 other times since this 10KLF show and none have been quite like this one. The Dark Star and eleven were just unbelievable, like traveling through space tunnels. Barry Sless was great as usual and the sax came in like icing on the cake.

This show stands out in my memory as one of the best Phil Lesh shows that I've ever seen! It was still daylight thru most of the first set, but for the second set it was all dark, cool, and alive. I agree with the other posts that Joan really shown that night - I really dig Cold Roses. Great job on the recording - the sound quality really captures the mood. Along with the KW/SCI set earlier that day (also on the archive), that day at 10KLF was one of the best concert experiences of my life. Nothing I have seen since has come close. I highly recommend taking a listen.

OK-I guess I never even realized how sweet of a song Stella Blue is before that night. I am not sure if I would have told you that I liked the tune or not going into this show. Well folks- that song live was mesmerizing and Joan Osborne banished any doubts I had about her. Stella Blue - SHINE!

Very good recording -- no cloud on the tapes like some of the more recent shows --- straight up Dead set list...most enjoyable...

Thank you archive...

The Beacon show in Feb 2006 and the shows with Chris Robinson and members of Railroad Earth are right up there but this show is Phil and Friends at their best. From start to end, this show is in your face, high energy - it makes the Warfield commercial release look like a bad night. The vocals are all on key and the energy is petal to the metal - PLEASE make the soundboards available for sale or, better yet a DVD! Keep rocking Phil and mahy the year ahead be filled with even higher peaks!

Subject: The Greatest Stella Blue since 72'
We were pressed up tight in the front row for this gem of a show and let me tell ya'.....the electricity you hear in this recording was palatable that night.
After Keller Williams set our brains of fire, (show avail on this archive) Phil came on right after and promptly boiled us down to the shakin' bone!!!
Bravo on the tape quality boys!! This recording is not available through PL&F in a soundboard or any other format to purchase or otherwise. It's the only show on the tour that is not...hmmm? possible impending CD release or what....?
The Shakedown was a life changer and for those of you that have not heard it yet, Joan Osborne performed Stella Blue on this closing night of the tour in a way that would have made Jerry weep in admiration. I truly feel this version is the way this song was intended..
Phil took an exceedingly long time to take the stage due to indecision on the setlist...it was well worth the wait! Thanks again Archive you have again renewed my faith in the positive possibilities of technology.

Subject: MISSED OUT
I missed 10klf this year and am really upset with myself. Apparently I missed out on some GREAT shows, most of which are already available here.. thanks go to some dedicated tapers doing a great job. Phil's versions of some old favorites are right on point, including a blistering Cumberland Blues early in the first set followed by a bluesy, almost funked-out Big River. Really enjoyed Help>Slipknot>Franklin's.. in short..GET THIS SHOW. Side note: no Phil at Alpine Valley is just so disappointing. Midwest Music Fans unite.. we need to breathe some life into one of the greatest outdoor venues in the country (and not by booking more nights of Dave Matthews).

It doesn't get much better than this, I arrived early and got a good lawn seat, the lawn was a cool place to be, plenty of room to dance and the sound was superb. Phil was on tonight in every aspect, he was pumped for this show and crowd, it showed, all around great set, def worth the download.

Subject: Phil Bombs
I witnessed this epic show and I have never experienced the phil bombs before this night (55 dead shows & 35+ post jerry shows). Phil wanted to play this night, the last night of the tour. It showed. He had the 10Klf production staff make room for his 3 1/2 hour slot and they shifted the other bands that were scheduled that night. Sound blew me away. Very inspiring. Phil is the man.

Subject: great show
i really dig phil and friends. they have a really good sound and carry alot of the magic the grateful dead did. vpete - if u want to hear a bassist lead the band you should listin to les claypool. although his band sounds nothing like phil lesh, he's a damn good bass player.
also, the disc wont fit because of the 2 second gap that is put inbetween tracks when u burn a disc. if u edit your setting to get rid of the gap it should be able to burn on one disc. (BTW, if anyone knows how to do this with windows media, i would be more then happy if someone helped me out, dcbugher@yahoo.com)

Phil really dropped bombs this whole show. I took my little brother to 10KLF and got to show him what real bass does to you. Amazing Stella Blue here. Amazing sets in general and good job on the recording. All around best Phil show I've been to/heard. Oh yeah, and most hillarious organ donor speech of all times!

I can't remember the last time I watched a bass player lead the band inthe mix and in the music. It was a phenomenal show and the sound was to die for. Thanks to the tapers and everyone there that night, everything after seemed to just never 'get there'

Subject: BIG RIVER!
Throughout the tour, from what I have heard that is, Phil and the band continue to challenge the interpretation and phrasing of these "standards". The Big River here is EXCELLENT. However, the interpretation of Lazy River Road, in my opinion, misses the mark.

Set II is VERY VERY VERY FINE.

Sound on the recording is excellent. Thanks to the tapers and thanks to Phil and Friends.

I was at this show. It was amazing. Got to see 5 this tour and this was the best. Probably saw 80 Phil shows overall and this is one of the best of all if not the best. Great sound. Phil in excellent form. Awesome set selection. Great recording. Thanks to the taper for this one.
