Subject: Political Music to Dance to...
It was clear from the Denver shows that Phil is very political this time around...
It is also clear that the young guys are picking up the tempo...(you can see Jackie sayin' "let's go"
I refer to this as
"It's not your Mom and Dad's P&F's Fall Tour"
...clean sound...thanks

Subject: good stuff this night...
The current Phil & friends lineup certainly shows some outstanding potential. If they play together for more than a tour or two they should be killin' it every night. Also, I have to say this, even at the risk of ofending some longtime heads out there. I laugh my ass off every time Phil sings. I love the man and his music so don't get me wrong, but his singing is much less than desireable. Still, I shell out whatever a ticket costs every chance I get because Phil is the man. Peace Y'all

Subject: Momentum is Building
This outfit is getting their legs under them now :) They hit stride on this night with energy and flow. Good pull also.

Subject: Amazing 2nd nite @ The Big O
I was there both nights...the 2nd time was the charm! Band was on and t-i-g-h-t...definitely a step up from the previous night, which seemed much more sloppy & frustrating for all involved (I've been at it for 27 years and a couple of hundred shows, and -- sorry -- but Viola Lee Blues doesn't have the pop to be the centerpiece for the 2nd set).
From CR&S on, the counterpoints came hard & fast (Night/Dixie mourning the loss of the old south straight into Alabama Getaway...think ol Phil was making something of a political statement...?). 1/2 step was great, and sug mag is like that first slug of beer on a hot summer day...crisp & sweet, cold & hot all at the same time. Brokedown was beautiful...what can I say, I came away from the 1st night feelin' a little bit down, but night 2 felt like the old days were back.
Giving a 5 for the show...haven't heard the recording yet....
Phil Lesh - bass
Jackie Green - vocals, guitar, keys
Larry Campbell - lead guitar, fiddle
John Molo - drums
Steve Molitz - keys, vocals
Note: It's possible to use 2 CD audio disks like so:
Disk 1: Set 1 + Shakedown
Disk 2: The rest, leaving out crowd and Intros
