Subject: Van Beuren rocks
Here is a very funny cartoon. I have a copy of this I found on a dollar disc from Target. Thank goodness this has survived! When animation was from the heart!

Subject: stolen from the fleischers?
why does this feature various scenes seemingly directly ripped out of minnie the moocher and bamboo isle by the fleischers?
did one steal from the other?
either way this aint half as good as the aforementioned. still very entertaining though. audio not so good on the 256 ...
and wow. yes. politically out of this world

Subject: Not one to show at an NAACP meeting

This is a particularly hideous early 1930s Van Beuren cartoon. Bad timing, bad drawing, bad animation, weak story, everything about this is technically awful. However, it is so enormously politically incorrect, I give it five stars.

Tom and Jerry pointlessly morph into black characters, strictly to allow haphazard Amos & Andy schtick. Then a bunch of crazy stuff happens, and the cartoon ends with Tom and Jerry being chased by cannibals - the bone-inna-nose kind you don't see in cartoons today. Guaranteed to amuse and offend!

This cartoon is widely available on a DVD compilation of nicely-mastered and apparently restored prints of Tom and Jerry cartoons, which sells for $1 in bargain stores everywhere. Look for it at your local dollar store before eating up your bandwidth with this download. While you're there, you'll probably find the other $1 DVD collections featuring all the Fleischer SUPERMANs, other Van Beuren cartoons, and many more.
