This is a nice recording too.
We grokked this show and I really enjoyed the entire show.
Probably won't be long before high flow is spotted at a P&F show.
Back in the Bay at a show....perhaps I'll see some faces from the past.....hmmmm.

This show is as good as it gets in today's live music scene, thegrobe nailed it. Many thanks to our beloved Monkey Tuners for the quick upload.
This one was a barn burner from the opening notes, EPIC all night. Along with the 11-27 Warfield, these are MUST have downloads with this lineup. I too, used to long for the Q with Warren, Herring, & Barraco, but this lineup can cut the mustard as good as any Phil lineup yet. My wife & I sat in the section with the banner for Jeff Setzekorn. Blessings and comfort to Jeff's wife and all their extended family. We were deeply moved by the "Box of Rain," after Jen gave the Organ Donor Rap.
Nice bust out of "Midnight Hour," and Larry & Jackie fed off each other all night, trading leads and support rhythms like they were together 10 years, and Molo kept the train rolling. Molitz's keyboard wizardy is fun on "Shakedown" & "Unbroken Chain," and the treat of Ivan Neville on "Iko" and the parade was too much. Check YouTube for video of the Mardi Gras Parade! The Jack Straw and St. Stephen are flawless.
I got a fever, and the only cure is more of this!

Miracle show. 40 of us attended on behalf of Jeff Setzekorn(RIP). His wife, Jen , does the donor rap speech. Jeff's of many contributions to this archive will be long remembered. This show was hot, fun, and long. A definitive moment for this Phil & Friends line up. They are in full swing after the first tour in the fall of 2007. Several first time songs. Great sound on an audience recording = great performance.

Subject: WHAT A GIG - AND GREAT PLACE SINCE I LIVE OVERSEAS
A simply stunning performance.
I thought the 2002 line-up with Haynes could not be bettered.
I am a 37 year old deadhead since my father made me stay up late to witness Rockpalast in 1981 with The Dead and the Who.
My father explained that the hairy guitarist was the greatest since Hendrix.
I agreed and have followed his path ever since.
However the bass player caught my eye and continues to do so 28 years into my long strange trip. I am a Chemistry teacher here in Kuwait and if any fellow users wish to email me and strike up correspondance - please email me at andrewchardward@yahoo.co.uk
Keep on truckin' down the golden road to unlimited devotion. Eternally grateful to the taper for the rapidity of the upload and awesome quality on my maranz deck here. Superb!!!

Great show, Great Recording. Listen to this show!!! This band is the real deal. They were so amazingly tight it was mind boggling. Absolutely one of the hottest shows I have ever been to, especially if you include the party factor into the equation. That includes 40+ GD ( I know not that many), 15 years of Panic, and a decade of Phish shows.
Its been along time since I was hitting the road to see Jerry so maybe I just forgot how good it could be. I was skeptical because all of the other post GD lineups I have seen were good, but pretty much just because of nostalgia. This show was different.
This was bliss, a total Grateful Dead revival for me. I was completly blown into another dimension. Jackie Green and Larry were absolutley on fire. The whole band just took off from the start and left us a sweaty mess smiling in the rain 5 hours later. Total mayhem. Human energy like nowhere I have ever been except a Grateful Dead show.
Love Herring, Warren, Kimock, Trey et al. Some of the greatest musical talents I have been blessed to see. If someone would have told me that the current lineup would be better with Jackie, Larry, and Steve I would have been extremely cynical to the point of laughing.
I can't believe I am actually gonna say this, but this lineup is as good and probably better than any band right now including Mule, Panic, Primus, and Ween. That is saying a lot.

I give this show the highest rating...a visual fun fest o' rama. Breathtaking from the floor and even better from the ceiling...this show saved my life.
Phil, John, Jackie, Steve and Larry...Thank You.
Thanks to Ivan and Dumpstaphunk as well.
You funked and rocked my socks off.
Regards to the Taper who put up this show. This is my first experience of listening to a show right after the show...man, talk about a goose bump inducing experience. If I close my eyes...well, I do pretty good at open eye day dreaming too...
The crowd was wonderful, except for those few - hopefully they tapped into the music's healing powers and walk the good walk.
To those Sr. Deadheads who danced right beside me for 3 hours...your love light is so bright...thanks for the memory.
Special thanks to Mr. Phil Lesh. Thank you Sir.
Regards,
Mark

Maybe this isn't 1969, Maybe it's 2008 and Phil is still giving us chills! Awesome show and recording! I see a lot of music and this line up blows away anybody that is playin anything right now. I wish I would have been in San Francisco on this night instead of seeing a kinda blah moe. show in Milwaukee. Thank you tapers and thank Phil Lesh!

Don't get me wrong here people the evening was filled with high positive energy. With many grate faces in the crowd. A cornicopia of colour and lights. A total freak out with all the costumes and such. but i spoke strictly from the musical stance. Phil has allowed the room in this band for a reason that being a passing of the torch situation. He stands back a lot which is not typical of Phil. Just listen to the Fillmore West recordings from '69 where Phil knows where he wants the sound to go. and the band will oblige and follow him down the rabbit hole. just as they did for Jerry. but The Grateful Dead sound is over. It's just tough to think of the original sound and the sound of today. but we have to support the music regardless. and Phil's ideals of letting freedom ring true. I'm so thankful for the musicians involved. bringing us such high energy. Also many thanks to the tapers for the quick upload on this one. Grate sounding AUD. If you feel like shedding some tears listen to Phil singing Morning Dew.......

Phil & Jackie have been one of my most favorite incarnations of P&F thus far. Jackie really gets it and his soulful, bluesy voice lend much character to the lineup (not to mention his guitar licks).
Perhaps further1 was "too loose" to be in tune with the evening, but this show is a gem. The quality is awesome as usual (thanks Pete) and the boys rocked the house. Sure there were some jams which could have been longer, some musical elements which could have been "more perfect" - but man!
Download this show - that's all I can say. Someday I hope for a solid matrix of this aud + sbd! Five stars for quality.

Great to see the setlist -- I had forgotten about the Rider. Wow! Tons of good energy at this show. I encountered friendliness everywhere I went. The parade was really beautiful, colorful and fun - great crowd mgmt, no pushing/shoving ... and no jumpers this year! Great, fun, sparkly costumes all night. Nice to have Ivan Neville on stage! Dumpstaphunk was awesome! Great show! I'm looking forward to listening to this show again. Many thanks to our friends the tapers, for your stalwart recordings and for the quick upload!!
