Koordinate of WondersKoordinate of Wonders - EP [pls010] ()

Supersurgical warm front.

Drawing from a spectrum of icy colds and razor sharps, yet very human and touchable, are six tracks from Belarussian group Koordinate of Wonders.

With ripped-up rhythmic understructures of hyperpanned and texturized beats the songs glide mostly, piloted by mild tentative melodies and simple pad chords. Especially in such tracks as "Living Line B" (mmm, the melody), "Amnibios" (check out the percussion in the second part of the track, so cool), and "Outside of Sphere", their songs evoke certain characteristics of other artists in the genre like Diagram of Suburban Chaos, Proem, or Apparat.

Formed in 1998, KoW is Trimute-Ti (Drums, Keyboard, Programming) and An2one (Keyboard, Programming).

Subject: Airplay on USA radio
Having aired IDM on my radio show for several years, I can safely say that Koordinate Of Wonders is among the cutting edge of this style. The superb IDM tracks by these Minsk composers are a must for any fan of early Autechre, Arovane and later works by Surface 10. Mostly medium paced, tracks are best described as IDM with grey glitch and strong percussive effects with industrial type synth sounds, all covered with beautifully powerful melodies. It’s been a pleasure broadcasting their music on my program.

Love these sounds tripping over themselves to make one nice long, crazy story...
Basso and Outside of Sphere remind me of some of my favourite Aphex Twin songs.

Danke beaucoup!

Six strong tracks, especially the achingly beautiful opener. Premium glitch. A must have for anyone even remotely interested in the genre.
