It's been over two years since we introduced this entrancing duo in PUNCAST#920. In the meantime they have released an album 'Gueen's Head' on The Social Registry and toured Europe. This summer they are due to do Europe again and, in preparation, they did a little flurry of NYC dates to warm up new material. I picked this one, a small Sunday party with a bunch of Baltimore bands, as the one to shoot. Unfortunately on this night their new kit, which consisted of a well-vintage PA system that could well be a museum piece, decided to act up and cut out at random moments. Afterwards Emily declared it to be their worst show in a long time. Nevertheless I was able to pick up a couple of good new tunes. 'Superstitions' - apparently intended to be the title track of an, as yet unscheduled, forthcoming 2nd album - and 'Firefly'. The flicker effect is some weird interaction between Fat Baby's LED lights and my camera.
