Subject: Dead Comparisions
Why compare them to the Dead? Both are great groups and can be enjoyed in there own way. I guess because Ryan has done some Dead covers and played with Phil Lesh some people link the two together, but there is no need. I love them both.

Subject: really good show but...
As a huge Grateful Dead fan I'm just not hearing the Dead at all. Neil Young I can go with for sure but this band sounds nothing like the Grateful Dead....I know Phil and now Furthur play a couple Ryan Adams tunes and all but there are very few similarities in the way their respective bands play. The Cardinals are very tight and structured, even in their jams whereas the Dead meander, wander, explore and are very loose the majority of the time except for in the verses/choruses of songs...
all that being said they are a pretty fantastic band and a hell of a performance. well worth a listen

Subject: oh my god
always heard he/they were good...but never bothered to listen...wish I had sooner, but better late than never...original material, but the most reverent nod to the allmans/dead/neil I've ever heard...can you hear that jerry 71 in peaceful valley/trouble on wheels? is he channeling spirits of rock past? being that i live in santa cruz, i'm both ashamed that i missed the show, and proud that he did us right with some high quality rock...dowload now!

Subject: Killer!
An electrical oasis in the acoustic desert that was mid-2007. The band played several months of acoustic shows, waiting for Ryan to heal and the right venue to go balls out. Picking the Catalyst, Neil Young's old stomping grounds, to bust out a feedback laden rock show was nothing short of genius. Big thanks to Tom Hambleton (of sugarmtn.org fame).

This might be the moment when The Cardinals decided to become the Grateful Dead.

Subject: Beautiful Band - Great Performance
It's been 4 weeks since I saw The Cardinals at the Michigan Theater and I've been immersing myself in the abundance of great shows available on this website ever since. Thank you Cardinals, thank you dedicated recordists! "When the world is running down, you make the best of what's still around..." What a show! Great clarity, great ambience - next best thing to being there.
Thank you so very much.

Subject: Thanks for all your hard work
I would like to give a big thank you to all the people making this possible which would be the Cardinals and the people putting up the recordings. These shows sound unbelievable! 1st Red Cave show in a while sounds super-tight! We drove down from Portland and caught the S.F. and Berkeley shows before coming back for the home show. They played alot of the same songs but seeing them alter between acoustic and electric shows just left us itching for more. Hands down the best R.A. shows I've seen since seeing him at the Gothic in Denver in '01. As far as the band playing these size venues, we need to cherish this before they move on to bigger venues. After the Portland show the entire band came into the bar connected to the venue after the show. The ladies were harassing Ryan a bit but all the band members were all very personable. We won't get that if they start playing amphitheatres.

Subject: Great show!
Great show! Hopefully they will upload the Red Rocks show from Friday 8/3. Another fantastic showing by The Cardinals.

Side note: The show at the TLA in Philly (June) was Ryan's first gig back on guitar and was electric. His publicist is wrong!!

Subject: What a show!
I hate to admit this but this is the 1st Ryan Adams live show I've ever heard. I saw Ryan a few times with Phil Lesh and was less than impressed. I have a couple studio recordings that haven't kept my attention for very long. Man, I can't believe what I've been missing. This show kicks ass and what a band the Cardinals are. The recording quality is top notch and the song selection is great.

Subject: What's going on with Ryan?
Wow. I have seen RA so many times and so many times he just sucked. Just listen to the Munich gigs (Muffathalle and Elserhalle) and you know what I am talking about. Been to both.

His skateboard accident seemed to have forced him to re-discover his acoustic soul and strip back his songs. The last couple of shows were just amazing and they made me understand Easy Tiger.

The more amazing is his return to electric at The Catalyst (!). Couldn't have picked a better place. The band is so tight and Ryan is so - in the lack of a better word - focussed! 13 minutes of Easy Plateau is simply fantastic. Also great
sound quality.

If you love this show, do yourself a favor and check out Neal Casal's stuff. Hard to find the CDs unfortunately, but if you can get your hands around Fade Away Diamond Time go grab it. Heard him solo and with band a couple of times, he roc

Subject: Another great one.
I just have to say that all the post here are so well done, thank you for all that you do. I'm so happy to hear Ryan and the Cards doing it electric again. I just wish that they would have incorporated more of the new album with in this set. With that being said another great night from America's best songwriter and best band. One more thing, does anybody have any leads on the Wilshire Theatre show? The version of Goodnight Hollywood blvd. was amazing. Thanks again..

Subject: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
absolutely amazing. well worth the 5 hour drive from santa barbara. they busted out the electric guitars for the first time on the tour (according to his publicist Ray who we talked to before the show). The band is so tight - not a single glitch. flawless show!

Subject: Ryan Adams and the Cardinals: PLEASE BUST OUT!!!
They are on to something folks. I wish they would just throw down a massive Amphitheatre/Arena tour next year.

With a little nudge towards bigger venues this band will broadcast good vibes to the world!
