Subject: Stellar performance and sound
I just got around to downloading this and giving it a good listen. Such a good performance and wonderful sound. Great job on the matrix mix.

This is a great show to hear how the Cardinals were sounding in 2009. There's a bit of everything here, the serious rocking out, some soft tunes, enough jamming to keep it interesting (Goodnight Rose - soulful jamming) and playful banter. If you didn't get to hear these guys live, download this show, play it on a good stereo system and turn it up. This is it.

Subject: @ This show
I was stating to my brother during the show that it was the most studio sounding-polished show I had ever been to. This recording truly is the essence of what we saw, heard and felt that night.

Thanks for sharing this memory!

I've been collecting and loving RA shows here for years. Never bothered joining the archive or adding my two cents...until now. Das Haus...Sommerville...Norva....Santa Cruz...the list of great shows goes on and on. They're all special for the approach the band took on that evening. This one has to take the prize for best "rock" show. I might well be my favorite show of all. The band is tight as ever. The audience's energy is palpable. Ryan's solos shred to new heights. My body is physically reacting to the epic "Peaceful Valley" solo again as I type this. Gotta love the musical band intros. Sound is excellent as well. Kudos to Bill Demars for the brilliant matrix work with Vanark's audience record. Mr. Demars, I hope you will grace us with the 24 Bit version soon. This one is a solid gold keeper.

Thank you, Ryan. Thank you, Cardinals. Thank you, Bill Demars. Thank you, Vanark. And thank you, Lord.

The remastered soundboard of the Somerville Theater show from Boston is the gold standard of acoustic Cardinals live recordings.

This now takes it's place as the best sound electric Cardinals live recordings. The matrix of soundboard and audience is just awesome. Great job.

The show was amazing live. Maybe even more intense on headphones. The second set, starting with Shakedown is blistering.

It don't get any better than this.

Notes

Mastering Notes:
I thought the crowd was such a big part to making this show so great, that I used Vanark's audience copy to matrix with my SBD files.
Used Wavelab to stretch the SBD copy to match the bits of the AUD copy. Opened both sources in Adobe Audition 3's multi-track window and synced up the files. Then, mixed down to one stereo file.
