On the scene in Battery Park the day after a Raleigh NC show -- I was seeing lots of RatDog shows then -- I didn't like this set in the least. The prior act ate up some of RatDog's time, resulting in Bob's manager at the time (Chuck Randall) giving Weir the choke sign during China Cat, but the band proceeded to do an abridged Rider to bail out of the show.
Upon listening to this again, really enjoyable, and as previous review notes, the unique RatDog sound was coming together nicely. Really like the Baby Blue, LLR and Welcome to the World -- a great tune off Evening Moods Bob stopped playing. The Playin' Jam towards end of show reveals the nice, intricate jazzy improv Kenny, Jeff, Mark and Wasserman were developing.

Ratdog was growing musically, and I really enjoyed their sound at this point. Both the buckeye lake (5-26) and this show (6-4) show a band that is tight, listening to each other, and able to play both songs as well groove on ensemble jams.
I enjoy the Ratdog of 2000.

This is an excellent, albeit short set with one of very few versions of "Welcome to the World". Also features a beautiful "Looks Like Rain". Bob had some short-lived techinical difficulties during the opening "Playin", but it shouldn't detract from you enjoyment of this show. Grab it!
