Subject: Nitrous mafia
Subject: Nitrous mafia
This show was excellent. It was pouring rain outside and after the show was like a post apocalyptic war scene -obviously enhanced by the surrounding scenery( for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of visiting the electric factory it's named after what it most likely was before it became a venue and I'm not even sure how it got zoning for entertainment because it's still in the middle of an active industrial/commercial zone full of warehouses and corrugated steel buildings.) it was still raining and the shakedown street was set up on an alley several hundred yards from the venue and parking lots. There was a small incline to the path to get to this alley and all I remember is the cascading river of empty balloons flowing down this little hill as we walked up it and were greeted with by far the most nitrous I've ever seen in my life. The Philly nitrous mafia was so organized they had men on radios that had somehow gotten tanks filled or replaced during the show and there was also a decent amount of crack trying to be sold by local hoods with not many takers. Anyway standing literally inches apart were at least 50 diff nitrous setups with each tank having a salesman trying to get you to buy from him. It reminded me on a much greater scale of what it's like when you go to a mall with more than one Chinese food place and the workers are handing out samples and batling for your business. Lol.... But that image of the balloons flowing down the hill is forever seared in my memory. Sorry this isn't about the music. It's just a funny memory for me. But this whole tour was great. They were soooooo tight at this point after having been together without a lineup change for several years at that point.
