Joseph JeffersonScenes from Rip Van Winkle (1903)

Would you like to try our new video/audio player ? (beta!)

The legendary actor made this recording in 1903. Joseph Jefferson was known around the world for this portrayal of which he created. Although this was not Jefferson's first venture into recording, it was a far more successful one than what he had recorded for the Berliner Graphaphone Company in the 1890's.

Subject: He doesn't Yabba Dabba Doo for one thing..
Actor here performing scenes from a play that I never knew existed, based on the all too familar fairy tale. You sort of know the story by know, and this is not badly done, but it sure won't beat the parody that the Flinstones cartoon series did a while back.
