Fah - Halftone Bin [RC024] ()

Fah is back at ronin with a 53 minutes full length release of pure, dark bliss. After releasing some eps on Botb's netlabel Yomi Records, he offers us Halftone Bin, 8 tracks of ambient mastery. Genious sound architechture it is: delicate tones and subtle, warm ambiences with sometimes contrasting simple beats, drones and haunting effects. Organic, chaotic, yet somewhat techincal and cold, Halftone Bin's contradicting moods form great moments of beauty, sadness and introspection.

Subject: Quiet sounds
Whoever Fah is, he/she/them is/are learning lessons from quiet ambient masters like Eno and Budd. Halftone Bin can also be considered (at least in my opinion) a more quiet, colorful and calm version of Selected Ambient Works 85-92, vol. 2 (Aphex Twin). Unfortunate fact is - both albums are suffering from absence of any sort of variation. However, it may be considered a plus by many, so if you like any of the artists mentioned above, you will probably like this one.
