I saw that there was a guest peddle steel...(which always captures my interest). Never heard of this band before. I won't soon forget this band now!!! Great sounding (5 star)intimate recording!!! Performers and performance, excellent (5 star). Two minor bummers, gonna have to get used to the guys voice (which i will) and the 1 song just over a 80 minute length, (so your gonna have to drop a song onto another RRE recording) which i can't wait to record next. Enjoy! You have a new fan in me.

I went in early for the RRE->LoS late night show. I'm glad I did as I was right up on the rail when the boys came out to play.
It was obvious from the first song these guys were ready to make the night theirs. The engergy was strong, both from the stage and from the crowd. In the crowd boogying right there with me were most of the RRE friends I know (we missed you Yoster). Being up front with this pack of people was intense as the sparks were flying back and forth between the us and the stage.
This show was huge. Every song was played with such consistant intensity. The crowd and the gang up front would be swept up in a frenzy only to realize that they ain't heard nothing yet. Long extended jams...there and back again...where am I? It's still "Elko"? What? This is only their second song?
It was fun having Peter Grant on peddle steel guitar sitting in. He really added some nice licks to the music. He obviously has fun playing with this band.
I for one thought that Railroad Earth wanted to make this *their* late night, not just be the opening act. They started off in that direction and by the time they left the stage they had succeeded. To a person, all of the crew up front all thought the same thing "Railroad Earth blew LoS away". To be fair, LoS was good that night, but they never came close to the energy witnessed during the Railroad Earth set.
BTW, the sound quality of this recording is very good. It sounds more like a matrix recording then an audiance only recording.

This was a sik show - the crowd was super psyched - I was somewhere between the 1st row and 4 th row... Very tight... in my opinion, RRE has really evolved over the last year - dynamic jams + solos - and this performance shows why. Sound quality is excellent for non SBD. Oh yeah, Peter on the steel pedal..;)
