Rumsfeld's World
This was based on some silent workprint footage ("A-Bomb Blast Effects") that I found online at the Prelinger Archive. The soundtrack is from Erik Satie's Ogives.
I decided to build this film after I saw what Rumsfeld was doing in our conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere - to me it seemed like he belonged to a previous generation, and the workprint footage seemed to strike a chord in my consciousness.
This movie is part of the collection: Iraq War: General
Director: Brian Durham
Audio/Visual: sound, color
Keywords: atomic bomb; politics; Donald Rumsfeld

Subject: Profound beginning. Do continue
Perhaps there is really no ending in sight, afterall. Exemplary.

Subject: Beautiful Footage...Somber Film
Your film left me feeling sorry for Rumsfeld and that era...thinking that perhaps some long time ago he was just a kid with hopes and dreams for a better world. An era when war was "exciting" and seemed to be a cause for good against "evil"...whereas now it is utterly apparent that war is merely a facet of evil to inflict evil to raise profits.
