ry-om: laptops and guitars: electronic noise and acoustic soundscapes
ry-om are a London-based two-piece, and consist of Tom Shelton and Ryo Ikeshiro. Using laptops, guitars, feedback loops, synths, instrumental samples and vocals, they create electronic noise and acoustic soundscapes. All music is improvised and performed live without sequencing, and varies from pulses to irregular rhythms, tonality to dissonance, digital glitches to acoustic instruments, and rich, reverb-drenched textures to austere, upfront bleeps. The result is somewhere between electronica, noise and electroacoustic music.
