Subject: Great Fun
This cheap and cheesy sci-fi Xmas film is great silly fun, pretty decent for the budget and the time when it was made, and to all of those people trashing it: let's see YOU do better!

Subject: Hooray For Santa and Pia!
This gem is Pia Zadora's first film role!
A Good'n tacky Christmas Movie!
Kids love it, Adults groan, but secretly like it!
Everyone should see it once!

Dumbest plot and worst acting ever caught on film.

Subject: Hooray for Santy Claus!
This is the type of period Christmas special that really helps show the culture of the time it was made. Young children will probably enjoy it. I was just barely able to fit this on a VideoCD with just a little editing of the opening and closing credits.

Subject: Can't Believe I Sat Through This One
This is the worst film I have ever seen. I know some of the other reviews say that it is so bad that it is funny, but I cannot even say that much for it. I have only seen one other film as bad as this one. It was named Mule Feathers and starred a talking mule with the voice of Don Knotts.

Subject: Génial !
Moi j'ai adoré. Un vrai conte de Noël. Et au vu des votes, il semble que nous y sommes tous sensible.

Subject: Cheesy, but palatable
Despite cheesy sets, cheesy costumes and cheesy dialog, the film actually works. It should be considered a classic, right up there with Plan 9 From Outer Space.

Subject: Two "Star Trek" Connections.
The film speaks for itself. I burn a DVD of this for friends who haven't seen it each year ... and yes, they're still my friends (grin). My personal opinion is that this film is targeted toward children and DOES in fact entertain them. And when you compare this film to the children's programming of today, I'd actually rate it higher than the crap networks pass off as entertainment.

Before going, however, I just wanted to mention two Star Trek connections to this film. After this film was in the can, director Nicholas Webster went on to other things ... among them was being the director for the popular television series, "In Search Of" ... which, as everyone knows, was hosted by Leonard Nimoy (Spock).

In addition, a man named Brett Webster (unsure if he was "related" to Nicholas Webster), an uncredited technical advisor in the film, followed Nicholas to "In Search Of" where he did cinemetography work. But Brett has a more direct connection to Star Trek. Three years after his work on "In Search Of," he was the assistant visual effects director for "Star Trek - The Motion Picture" (aka "Star Trek I").

Subject: So bad it's good
The best of the cheesy Christmas themed movies of all time will get a slap in the face once the remake comes out...and with my luck...it will be Tim Allen as Santa...and a RAZZIE win for worst remake or sequel as well as for worst actor...

The original brought back a lot of good memories...enough of them that I don't want them to screw things up any further with another load of actors who couldn't act their way out of a paper bag...

Subject: B-Movie Classic
The sets are bad, the effects and costumes match. But, this movie is as wholesome as they come, and is a really swell picture, and great for the whole family during Christmas.

Subject: Fun stuff
If you like the classic 1950's science fiction movies, you'll enjoy this one! Complete with funky costumes, 50's type dialog, and Santa Claus as a fun twist!

the kitschy costumes, the bad dialogue, stunning special effects, realistic polar bears... truly enjoyable.

Subject: So Bad, It's Good
This movie is so bad it's good. Actually that's probably not completely fair since I think younger children would enjoy this movie for the story. Adults, well if you're into movies that are fun to laugh at because they're considered "bad" then you'd enjoy it as well. It's a good clean family movie - no nudity, violence or strong language.

I had planned to burn this download to DVD so I could watch it without needing the computer on. But problems converting the format led me to buy the DVD at amazon.com for less than $2 (USD) new. It was well worth it. It'll become a Christmas time staple at my house!

Subject: Martians?!
My favorite childhood Christmas video. Back before sci fi was acceptible came SC Conquers the Martians. Diffinate '60s flair but still korny enough to be entertaining. Spend some time looking back to simpler times

I remember going to the movies with my family to see this picture.

3 kids, 2 adult tickets - $3
Popcorn and Soda - $2
Grown-up Kid's family memories - Priceless.

Recomendation:
Gather the Kids around next Christmas Eve, break out the Popcorn and create some memories for the next generation.

Goofy, really goofy.

An amusing little film that will chase the blues away on a dreary gray day.

Recomended.

This is still surprisingly entertaining and sweet, and my little niece loved it.

It seems kind of touching to see grown-ups dressed up so ridiculously to entertain children.

Subject: Great News
I just bought this movie on dvd for $1. I work at WalMart and we got these movies for a buck. I was looking through them today when I came across the childhood favorite. I always looked forward to xmas and watch Tom "Popeye" Patton and his saturday movies in California. I still wasn't sure until I popped it in. And heard the theme song and saw the martians eat pills that tasted like food. It has brought some fond memories. Stop by walmart and pick it up.....

The best version of this movie is when it is "mistied". There may be a DVD available that has the cast of Mystery Science Theater 3000 making fun of it.

I did always look forward to watching this on the smaller local tv stations when I was a kid. I would always seem to be on around 11 PM on, say a thursday, in June or September??
