Hippies in the Hub!
This show has always stood out as a highlight in my college show going experience. It occured during what now feels to me like somewhat of a golden age. This was my first time seeing the band, and the crowd was a whole lotta fun. lots of people dancing. I think 1999 and 2000 were the peak years for this band. It sure shows in this performance: Super tight and melodic with a perfect blend of bluegrass, funk and rock. What was especially cool was the fact that I could walk straight to the venue from my apartment in Isla Vista. I won't go into details about each song because five years later they've all swirled into a big blur of beautiful noise and ecstatic dancing.
