I just clicked on this out of curiousity - this is great stuff - decent sound quality, and the music just takes you places ... definitely worth a listen

Subject: great surf music.
great recording. amazing quality. It could be an official release. This dude is the shi-tones archiver and has taped all the shows up here for this band. all seem to be at this one venue up in SF. Bummer I'll be missing their performance by just a week. High quality surf music in the Mermen style (the two bands share the same lead guitarist). Really nice lazy surf guitar music and a good vibe. put it on at your next party. surfs up haole.

Subject: My best discovery
Whowwww... great tribute to Neil Young, especially at the end!
I grew up with the sounds of Duane Eddy, the early Wray, Hank Marvin and Dick Dale. At my 50th birtday, in 1997, I was blown away by the first Mermen-record I got, Live At The Haunted etcetera... a complete discovery to me, thanks to the Internet! I've collected a lot of special, outstanding guitar bands in the past decades - but Mermen/Shi-Tones are one of my dearly favourites. Every day this band's "surf music" for hours is with me, don't know better companions!
The wonderful covers in this archive are classic and contemporary together, several are beautiful adjustments to the original compositions.
Be sure, you've a lot of hardcore fans in Europe, especially in the Netherlands. We're eagerly looking forward to a next album. A Mermen, all of us should have to be!
