Subject: BYOB rager!
I'm almost positive this was the first time Steve played at Mexicali - I'm pretty sure it had just opened up at that point. They weren't even serving booze yet, so it was a BYOB free-for-all. They even kept your beers cold and just served them up whenever you wanted.

The music was fantasic, especially starting out with a hot H&L, followed by the first IUTY that I every remember in which the first jam section was better than the usual dark nastiness that ensues in the 2nd section.

I'll always remember this show as one of the most fun SK shows I've ever been to.

Subject: Great show!
I have listened to only as far as Long Form pt.IV
Great energy and band chemistry this night and the taper did a fantastic job. I like these mics in this application...not too compressed. So far as I have listened, IU2U is fantastic and very improvisational towards the middle of the piece. The band really breaks out and explores for a while before coming back to the main theme. Almost worth the DL for this track alone. Yeah, there are a few spots where you can really hear the crowd but in my opinion it is desirable to have some crowd noise in order to give the show the right vibe. Overall a great show captured very well by the taper.
