(The media as mental jailers)
Without the complicity of the mainstream media, the 911 cover-up could not exist. "Those who control the mainstream media control the brainstem of our collective consciousness. When those charged with being the skeptical inquirers are neither skeptical nor do they inquire, the only phrase for it is deep complicity. When investigative journalists fail to investigate the obvious, it is deep complicity. When investigative journalists only investigate that which distracts the public from the obvious, it is even deeper complicity." The Toronto-based media critic and TV host/producer spoke at the SF 9-11 Inquiry and is an organizer of Phase Two, Toronto: www.911inquiry.org 10 min, 3 megs.

Subject: An Incredible speech by Barrie Zwicker
Living in San Francisco as I do, I regret that I was not present to hear Barrie Zwicker give this moving speech which sums up the challenge of why it is important for us to get to the bottom of all the facts regarding the horrible events of 9/11.
At the time he gave this speech I was only beginning to have questions myself about the events-- questions that are still painful to investigate.
I have come to believe through these past years that among people doing research on the subject, Barrie Zwicker is among the most credible, if not the most credible. His values and motives are sound and selfless-- as is his propensity to humbly question himself and his own discoveries every step of the way.
Among people living today, I admire him as one of our best living humanists-- and certainly one of our best journalists.
People like Zwicker give me hope that mankind can find solutions to many of the ills that beset our contemporary world. I hope more people, especially future journalists, will listen to him.
