Notes
Mics were DIN, about 30' back DFC. Some audible static in quiet parts, likely due to a bad optical cable. Really doesn't interfere with the enjoyment of the music though.

I really enjoy this recording. I saw a few shows from this tour, and i think this captures the feel during this unique time in the band's history.
Listen closely to the trio's old staples, that i feel are played with amazing intensity and burst. This version of "One In Seven" is one of my favorites. Neale's organ playing is like a three hundred ton locomotive destroying anything in its path. The buildup in the middle is one of the best i've heard from these guys. This comes after playing a few songs with Toussaint. Listen to the first two songs leading into the "No Place Like Soul" tunes....or listen to "The Ocean" encore. The energy changes.
No doubt in my mind these guys put their all into the Toussaint journey and the songs that were the result, which i really kinda liked, taken on their own.
It was kind of as if they were saying "yes, we can play this, but NOW LISTEN TO THIS!!!THIS IS WHAT WE ARE ABOUT!!!"
I dunno, these guys are awesome. Never a bad show.
