Sounds abound is a net label that strives to provide hosting space for music of an extreme or experimental nature and to encourage the distribution of free digital media. We host free demos and albums if you are willing to donate them to our archive.

We are currently looking for artists in the following genres: Grindcore, Crust Punk, Power Violence, Hardcore, Noise, Ambient (Dark or otherwise), Death Metal, Black Metal, IDM, Trip Hop, Glitch, Chiptune, Speedcore, Breakcore, Midigrind, Industrial, Shoegaze, Progressive, Doom and any combination of these as well as those interesting projects that defy any and all classification :).

There are no limits on kbps but we do restrict our music submissions to mp3 only. We do not accept other types of audio (wav, FLAC, ogg, etc.)

We also are open to film, cartoon, comic, and art book submissions which would be distributed the same way as the music but under a different catalog number (EX: SAM01).

All submissions are presented as a direct link to a .zip file containing the songs, album art, and a track list .txt file that contains both a list of the songs and a description of the album by us and the artist if they choose to provide one.

Basically if we like it we'll host it and if we don't like it well tell you instead of ignoring you.

Artists and listeners alike would also be advised to see that we here at Sounds Abound are just as prone to making fools of ourselves as the rest of the human populace (if not more so.) So much so in face that we've credited a female artist on the label (Post Apocalyptic Zombie) as a man!!! An unforgiveable (albeit hilarious) insight on our part. Human error is a factor here as well as anywhere else :).

All releases are currently under Creative Commons and are hosted through Archive.org . If you have a problem with that we are very sorry but we cannot host your album :/.

Because of the way we host our content we cannot legally distribute cover songs. All of the music here is distributed by us with complete permission from the artist.

We would also like to note that we are NOT a promotion company. It is not our job to book shows for you or send your material to labels. We do sometimes notice and/or pursue opportunities for individual artists but thats not what were here for. We are simply here to make your material heard by some of the people on the internet who like small time artists. This is a free service. We are not morally opposed to selling music but if we did it would not be under the name Sounds Abound.
