Subject: Always good
The Bowery BOys always provide good, empty headed fun, a nice releif from all the
"message" movies these days, like "american Pie."
Oh well, still good fun.

Subject: Spooks of fun
I have to say this is a funny movie. Is hard for me to find good funny movies and this is on of the good old classic funny movies. I have to say i was surprise to see Bela Lugosi in a comedy and he sure did a good job too.

Subject: O' brudda
Spook comedy in a haunted house. East Siders are warned of Lugosi the vampire ("vulture"). Muggs and the Kids decide to trap the killer. And so they do. O'brien and Dorothy Short were married in real life.
They have to call Lugosi "vulture" because Universal owned the rights to Lugosi the "vampire".
If you don't like the boys don't watch, I happen to be an Bowery Boy aficienado and it was kind of slow for me.

Subject: HA Ha! Bela Lugosi!
Although the Bowery Boys are (say it isnÂt true!) starting to grow on me, and I had somewhat high hopes for Spooks Run Wild, because you never know what will happen when Bela Lugosi is on the scene. Unfortunately the ÂRunning Wild portion of the title can be aptly used to describe the movie, because this just goes all over the place, and uses weak excuses to justify itÂs actions.
When the boys are on their way to Juvvie camp for getting into trouble, they stop in a town overnight. Also happening to be in this town are a mysterious stranger (Lugosi) and his, uh, midget friend, who everyone is convinced is some sort of monster killer but donÂt bother to do anything about it. The kids are stuck in LugosiÂs creepy house, and basically silly situation after silly situation transpires, without any logic or reasoning building up to a ridiculous conclusion that, if you were casually paying attention, you could have easily picked up from the start.

Subject: Great Film!
I've watched about 20 flicks on this site so far, and up to now, this is my favorite. It was much better than I expected. Good clean fun, super (over)acting, which is fitting for the time period. Bela is the same as always.
If you'll notice, it has a couple of actors from "Reefer Madness".
Highly recommend.

Subject: Dead End kids meet Bela Lugosi
Though it has plot holes big enough to drive a semi through, it's mild fun all the same. The comedy wasn't as dated as I thought it would be, and I even found myself chuckling in a few places. Some good haunted mansion scenes that made me think this flick might have been the inspiration for a certain great dane. Good background audio/video, not so hot for sitting and watching.
