Subject: "And then I could feel the shake dissolving into a slow fade"
Pretty short clip about the quake o' 1919. There are much longer and well, unneccesarily edited clips around he archive, so go with that. Unless you're looking for a quick glimpse.

what's with the transitions? why edit a century old video and use modern useless, ugly effects? it tampers with the athmosphere of the movie.

This is decent film footage for the era. You can get a view of the building wreckage and people activity after the quake.
