This was a fun show. I was the taper and this was a special radio station promoted show. it was just "91 cents" to get in (The radio station is 91.1 FM). I remember I drove up from Ocean Beach in the rain to get there and it was nearly empty. it was like a thursday or something mid-week. but despite the small crowd, scarlet symphony really played the crap out of the room. Unfortunately the background vocals weren't turned up as well, but gary (lead singer) is really clear. the instruments are all pretty clear, considering how loud it was in there. there is no crowd noise or stuff like that. it sounds good! definately a fun little rock and roll show. it's a bummer the band broke up. if you liked them, check out the two new bands they became: UV Tigers and Society! both of who are on the archive.org as well.

These mp3s are of incredible quality! I wasn't at the live show but who cares?! There are no crowd noises or clipping going on here. I wonder if they only played 6 songs (which would have been a rip off for me to drive from OB) but I can't complain. This version of Sapphire--one of my favourites songs from any band, local or not, of all time--isn't the best I've heard (darn close, though). But it gives one enough fuel to understand why SS is worth your money.
