Subject: show
i was at this show and just hearing it brings back the feel of the breeze blowin off the water and the nasty jams flowin through the air. UM completly melted my face off. But gettin down to the tribe was a fuckin blast. ALL AND ALL THIS SHOW IS THE BALLS.

Subject: are you people serious?
wtf is wrong with all of you? i like sector 9 and love umphries mcgee, and i really fucking love moe. everyone is on here just slamming everyone else and their likes and dislikes. these bands all sound different and i love em for that; i don't wanna be listening to the same shit over and over again. but some people act like their favorite band is the end all be all and every other one is schwag. then they obnoxiously slam everyone else's tastes and their band's ability.

first of all, umphrey's is not a cover band and you don't know shit about the jam scene. covering other people's songs with your own twist is a staple of jam rock.

second of all, i love what tribe does with sampling and instrumentals, but if you love that why not umphs? they do a lot of synthesizer shit as well. listen to N2F or wappy sprayberry or the like.

finally, to say that umph's is talentless and compare them to bisco's vocals is just ignorant. jake was professional drummer at age 10 before he started shredding on the guitar and their drummer kris has a degree in jazz from the university of DePaul.

my post might be a tad excessive, but i'm sick of the shit i hear from jam snobs. It's not right. it's one thing to not like some band or music, it's another to make people feel like dicks cus their taste isn't the same as your's. let's just be a bit nicer.

right on cheesyphunk show that dooshbag whats up and for you stamp if it wasn't for us haters there wouldn't be any one out there to tell the world the umphrey's blows hard. seriously how could anyone respect a band with no real talent as musicians. come on now umphreys is the collective equilivant of the bisco's vocals. o and by the way good recording.

Subject: SIGNAL PATH!!!! HAAAA!!
i'm sorry... I hate to further the difference... but when I saw

"I liked this band better when the bass player was from Alpena, MI. and they were called Signal Path" and all "sampled beats" I couldn't help but crack up!

kid.. Sts9 has NEVER had a a member change.... and they are certainly NOT FROM ALPENA, MI.

and they can sample all the beats they want... if they tediously put in work for years in the studio to create those fresh ass sampled beats

go back to moe and watch kids noodle for 75min at a time... does the term beating a dead horse mean anything? PROGRESSIVE AGGRESSIVE..YAH!!

weak

Everytime I come to this wonderful place we know as Archive I expect to see some love and unity between music lovers. Yet again, I was wrong. I am an avid STS9 fan, but that doesn't mean I automatically hate Umphreys. Both are good bands with great talent. If its not your cup of tea then thats cool, just respect them as musicians. QUIT BEING LITTLE KIDS ABOUT THIS!!!PLEASE!!! Thats not what music is all about.

Much Love,
~Stamp

sts9 put as much energy as a band could put into one set. It turned into a mass shitshow once Umphrey's came on. they played don't fear the reaper.,, thats the kind of shit we turn off at work when it comes on the classic rock station, We pay money to see Sound Tribe Sector 9 play progressive music, not some cover band sausage fest. There was literally ketchup and mustard on tables inn the VIP section. STS9 was great though.

So I was at this show to see Umphrey's but was very excited to see STS9 for my first time. Thats was of course until I met the STS9 fans and the band went on. Its too bad that these fans had to go just for the drugs and sampled beats, but the part that ruined the show for me was the two STS9 girls that made rude comments to my face for me wearing a moe. tshirt. YIKES!! As for the music... mmmmm. I liked this band better when the bass player was from Alpena, MI. and they were called Signal Path. All I have to say is, thank god UM came out roaring! Download the UM set to hear how its done.

ive never been to this venue before and despite some lame security and seats, it was a perfect place. right on the water with a great breeze and rockin tunes. sound tribe played very well, liked hearing some stuff off peaceblaster and loved hearing some oldies. playing with umph is cool bc ive noticed that hunter has started to really get down on his guitar again.. props
