best new years ever???
I'm saying 2002
history of the biscuits for countdown...
2001's countdown was also, real good.. star wars/indiana jones/superman....
but 12/31/2002.... that show is hot. Trumps this one in my opinion.
This countdown was entertaining... the show is good overall.
Alan's been with it on the drums for some time...
I agree with the comments about "getting there" that's the magic that occasionally is missing. Like the destination is more important than the travel itself lately.

Hating on Alan? Seriously "memanous"?
Pretty good show, play a good mix of stuff, and that countdown is amazing. However, the 12-30 show kills this one (and is one of the best shows I've heard of their's).
I must take great offense to Memanous's statement that "the drummer finally sounds good"... are you kidding me???? You're going to hate on Alan??? He's the best part of this band.

Good show
The Biscuits have sounded a lot worse in the past trying to achieve the sound they are going for here. What i like about this show is that I think they get to that nice techno-ish place that is nice for dance music. Im glad the drummer finally sounds good. Over all this is a good show.

its a decent show, but the getting "to that place" vs mindless untz ratio is very low. there were some decent peaks in set 2 and the countdown was fun

Biscuits!!!
I must admit, I am new to the biscuits scene. My first show was the second night at the calvin in January of 09, the 30th and 31st of December were my 11 and 12th shows of the year. New years eve was the best biscuits show I have yet to see. And honestly I'm always hunting on archive and anywhere els I can find shows and nothing I have found sounds better than NYE. My hat go's off to magner, I have no idea how he makes the sounds he does, I enjoyed every second of his madness. That xylaphone effect in naeba was wild. I dont know what els to say, marc is my hero and blew my mind during memphis into caves of the east. I suggest finding this shows soundboard and putting it on ur ipod and anything els that holds music!!

For some reason this feels like a Philly Biscuits show. Not saying all Biscuits shows in Philly have been bad lately, but they tend to play it kinda safe and thats how this one went. Sounds like a great time, nothing too out there to confuse people- but for my tastes i want it to be too out there and confusing. The countdown is phenomenal, the 'island jam' into Humu was a nice throwback and from Caves forward the first set is great other than a mediocre Waves peak. Outside of the countdown the 2nd set is a big letdown and that along with how generally tame the improv is drags the rating down to a 3. Any other night of the year, i'd say it was a "2.5" but NYE was undoubtedly too much fun to go that low!

if you were disappointed by this show i am confused how you like the disco biscuits in the first place. i've been to plenty of biscuits shows and i will say this is some of the best i have heard from them (minus some barber sloppiness here and there). again, the caves>gangster>waves was definitely a highlight. other than that i would say the entire 2nd set is a highlight. top notch jams throughout and the countdown was executed flawlessly. good sound but i'm still going to buy this show because it's well worth it.

the sound quality of this recording is pretty good, but the show sounds childish. It insists upon itself. I had high hopes at the show, but the band just can't get "there" anymore. So disappointed.

i was at this show, and i can say that from the dance floor this was (.)(.)s
highlights are...everything. my personal favorites were the caves>gangster and the whole second set. also the humu was amazing in the third set

I couldn't make this, but judging from setlist it looks like a top 5 biscuits show ever....countdown medley is faaaaaaacked
