Subject: The Range Busters - The Fighting Patroits
Subject: The Range Busters - The Fighting Patroits
An interesting Range Busters western with John "Dusty" King, Davey Sharpe and ventriloquist Max "Alibi" Terhune for comic relief. The Range Busters go to help a friend who is a horse rancher about to ship horses to the Philippines and come up against Japanese spies and U.S. traitors. In the course of the film they wind up in a bar in Corregidor where - wouldn't you know it - they run into the spies and traitors who implicate another traitor back in the U.S. So they mop up things abroad and come back and finish things off only to be met with the news of the Pearl Harbor attack. And they're off to enlist. Marjorie Manners is the attractive love interest that King and Sharpe fight over - between 1941-47 she appeared in 18 movies and was credited in 14 of them. King sings a few songs, Terhune plays with his dummy, everybody fights and shoots and its an okay film. IMDb pegs it at 56:00, we get 53:56.

Subject: Get em! Kill em!
A Bit of a notorious western.. I can't quite remember where it was profiled, but I remember either reading about, or seeing something that scene where the dummy (who is standalone!) urges his cowboy friends to shoot and kill drawings of Hitler and Mussollini. This western is about the range busters getting wind of a shipment of guns from Japan and realizing that sneaky jap supporters are responsible! One by one they get a hold of them. This is what, the 3rd or 4th round of Range Busters members? Sort of tiring.

viewers will be entertained by one of poverty row studios. monogram was one of the better ones
in poverty row as rgey produced simple plot pics that were heavy on action in their westerns while
while depending on stock footage to make the pictures seem longer.the western texas to bataan
is a good example of their work. the best element
in thie western is that two of the greatest
stuntmen in moviedom history, david sharpe and
tom steele were in it and had a rather nice fist
fight against6 each other. i implore B western
movie fans watch this one. it's worth a look.
