In September 1997, Welsh producer Excelsior created the piano hardcore anthem "Dipsomania" with the help of DJ Prism. "Dipsomania" was only Excelsior's second track after his 1996 debut "The Great Experiment"; the name of the track was inspired by a night out to see DJ Prism with some folks who couldn't handle their alcohol! A bouncy, uplifting Prism remix of the track in November 1997 (originally featuring a bootleg vocal) helped raise its profile, although it was 2002 before the original mix of the track finally gained exposure after being made freely available and promoted on several online download sites. Ten years on and both the original mix and Prism remix of "Dipsomania", without the vocal, have been fully remastered and made freely available to download in their original full length format. A bonus 2008 remix by up and coming UK hardcore producer DJ Kube also features on this release, which adds some bouncy contemporary synth action.
