Basil DeardenThe Smallest Show on Earth (1957)

Taken from IMDB:
Jean and Bill are a struggling married couple with Bill trying to scrape a living as a writer. Out of the blue they receive a telegram informing them that Bill's long-lost uncle has died and left them his business - a cinema in the town of Sloughborough. They pack their bags and travel to Sloughborough expecting to sell the cinema to gain a huge inheritance, however, they discover the cinema is falling apart and is run by a comically incompetant staff who seem to have worked there forever. They set out with a plan to sell it but things don't quite go to plan.

Subject: I love this movie!
This is an adorable, incredibly witty and warm-hearted little British film with Peter Sellers in a pre-fame minor role. I was so happy to discover it was here.

Subject: A Little Gem.
This is type of film the British are best at, clever and witty set in the real world with a cast of characters that excel in their craft.

Dame Margaret Rutherford - Mrs. Fazackalee - One of the best-loved eccentric character actresses of post-war cinema.
Peter Sellers - Percy Quill - A comic genius.
Virginia McKenna - Jean - Appeared in many films including Carve Her Name with Pride and Born Free.
Bill Travers - Matt - Famous worldwide for his part in Born Free with his wife Virginia McKenna.
Sir Bernard Miles - Old Tom - British character actor who founded The Mermaid Theatre.
Sid James - Mr. Hogg - Born in South Africa but was one of Britain's post-war film industries greatest comedians.
Leslie Phillips OBE - Robin - A great British character actor still going strong today.

Well worth downloading to watch over and over again.
