Thee Moths is (mostly) Alex Botten plus an array of instruments and an old Apple Powerbook (though now a new Apple MacBook has joined the band). With these tools and help from friends and loved ones he crafts a patchwork cut and paste audio diary taking in folk, beats, electronics, noise and anything else that passes through his sphere of existance. During the last six years numerous collaborators have come and gone and the band has appeared on over 40 releases including 3 critically acclaimed albums (a forth, 'Sparrows and More Sparrows' will start recording in the early part of 2007)
'Soft Heartbeart or Gentle Clicking' is the second free EP Thee Moths has thrown out into the world (the first, 'Folk', is available from www.petpiranha.com). More of a mini-album than an EP the record is intended as a standalone artifact than a bridge between two albums. The sounds within reflect the live sets played during the first half of 2006, featuring bells, birds, looped drums and the sampled voice of US artist Eryn Day.The record as a whole is dedicated to Kathy Duffy.
