"Die Illusion der Verzweiflung," or The Illusion of Despair, explores existential concepts through homage to classic german cinema and literary archetypes. The Faustian character, Wilmot, desires a higher truth; his life is books, yet they are not compassionate. His need attracts Amara, who may have the power to help him, though at what cost? Reviewer:antolintinez - - August 17, 2009 Subject: A decent film Very nice and well done. Some technical aspects could be better solved (camera movement when Wilmot goes around out of the bar, also the music in that scene) but is technical ok. Very nice the story about the anguish or despair of our friend Wilmot, looking for the "sense of live" same as the knight in the seventh seal of Bergman and other movies (one of them from Fassbinder). At the end, the blank book is predictible: our frined Will perhaps should follow the ancient Oracle of Delphi, starts knowing himself. Well, well done!

"Whites Illusions of Despair is a black-and-white video installation built upon the adverse elements of alienation and interaction and set against an appropriately urban backdrop."
