"Die Illusion der Verzweiflung," or The Illusion of Despair, explores existential concepts through homage to classic german cinema and literary archetypes. The Faustian character, Wilmot, desires a higher truth; his life is books, yet they are not compassionate. His need attracts Amara, who may have the power to help him, though at what cost?
