Subject: the western trio
i remember seeing this western when i was a kid.
thr three mesquiteers were very popular i the 1930's and were great action and fun to watch.
this trio included bob livingston as stoney brook
and he was soon replaced by john wayne before
he really hit the big time. ray corrigan was later to become rich when he opened the corriganville ranch where many a western movie
was shot. the mesquiteer western made movies for
a long time at republic studios with many cast
changes.they were the best trio of cowboys of
all time.this movie was among their best.

Subject: Not the same without John Wayne
But worth watching anyway. We'll give this one 4 stars for the goofy boxing match. Wayne had already done "Haunted Gold". Maybe he didn't want to appear in another spooky picture like "Ghost-Town Gold". He was probably feeling dis-spirited.

Subject: Old West Movies...
Jim must'of lost big at the poker table before he wrote his review of this show. I loved the show. Typical movie for the three M's.

The bank robbery, a ghost town, an old prospect lookin'timer, the talking piece of wood, a good fighter scene, shootin' gamblin I especially like the hand where all the moneyÂs in the pot and the first guy laid down 4 10 and the 2nd guy says not so fast and laid down 4 queens and the third guy laid down 4 kings and our ole buddy with the talkin piece of wood said heyyyy not so fast and laid down 4 aces. What a hand to have in a poker game.

This is a really good show with a good plot and a little bit of suspense and a whole lot of fun. Download it, youÂll like this typical early day western.

I say, Good Show folks!!!

Travis

Subject: This is Ghost-Town Gold
This film is not the first "Three Mesquiteers" by Ray Taylor.
This is Ghost-Town Gold by Joseph Kane also released in 1936.

A very poor episode in the Three mesquiteers serie, it does however include a Boxing match were one of the mesquiteers uses a gun to ring the bell earlier.
Saved the film for me.
