twice as nice.
start to finish, probably my favourite tlg show to listen to. doin' it over again gives me goosebumps. the only thing that has bothered me for a long time and i got a chance to fix was the loop in Zoom Zoom. about a minute before zoom zoom ends, for some reason the track loops back to about 1/3 of the way in...probably just because it's so sick, cogswell had to hear it again.

Subject: absolutely incredible acoustic tlg.

this is a Bob Cogswell recording!
also check out his recordings of 10/28/06, 9/29/06 (acoustic), 5/4/06, and 4/8/06 (acoustic).
This show is an absolute must-have for any tlg fan out there. The night was absolutely electric(even though the show was acoustic) in every way possible. If I could only have 5 shows in my entire TLG collection, this would be one of them.

For a list of other high-quality tlg on archive, see this web address:

This show is fantastic ! Three sets of passion and good vibrations. Thank you Trevor for the pleasure and the music. Sound quality is excellent - four star and a half. What can i say, this is one of the best unplugged shows that i heard. Thank you LMA.

Subject: warning for newbies

i'm a recently-converted fan of the musical ground this band is covering, so i wanted to give a heads-up to folks that might listen to this acoustic show early on in their "tea leaf" education.

the guitarist is *definitely* an electric guitarist that happens to be playing guitar for this gig. you can hear it. so, if you're used to that creamy magic he layers on so thickly in their electric incarnations, be prepared to be underwhelmed.

but yeah. definitely a show to listen to. highlights the singer-keyboarist-as-songwriter aspect, which is neat, and the energy is real hot. and you can hear the lyrics, which is a whole new thing for me. :-)

a'ight. peace and love to all toes i may have stepped on, this is a hip band --- meddle

really sick show...do not even think about not listening to it. Hope this band stays at smaller venues for a while longer, cuz I have a feelin people are spreding the word on their talant..good and crisp..see you in a month in indiana.

Subject: It's official...

This is THE show on here for a bunch of reasons, but for me it's due to the great clarity of sound and beefy setlist. Get this one!!

Subject: My favorite TLG on the Archive,

or anywhere else for that matter. Incredible sound quality, great setlist, perhaps the most mindblowing Don't Let it Down you'll ever hear. 5 stars doesn't do it justice - it's that amazing. You lucky, lucky bastards who were at Cafe du Nord on 1/20/05.

Subject: tlg lyrics

in response to hyperboys review...

it's quite silly to compare tlg to phish in the lyrics department. TLG definitely taps into more mature subjects while the phish's lyrics are more playful, metaphoric and whimsical. in other words, i don't know a lot of heads that listen to phish for the lyrics.

this show is pretty focking sweet though.

Reviewer: kgoedman - 5 out of 5 stars - June 2, 2005
Subject: Very solid show!

I was thinking about this show today and, at times, Trevor's voice really reminds me of Dickey Betts' on "Eat A Peach". Anyway, that's somewhat of a side point, but this show should be downloaded because it's a nice acoustic show that illustrates the musical capabilities of this band.

Subject: my new hook!

I just discovered these guys, and damn have I been missing out! The band is just right. The guys are perfect for each other and it's obvious in this show. I love the acoustic guitar and piano instrumentation.

Trevor Garrod is a special talent. His lyrics are the best I've heard in a long time. It's nice to hear a meaningful tune instead of some ridiculously meaningless Phish tune. Phish is great, but sometimes the purpose is missing. With these guys you get straight up brilliance. And they play very well together. Did I mention the sound balance and quality....it couldn't be better for this type of music.

Subject: Trevor Garrod--best song writer out there

And that's that. What an unbelievable poet and song writer. Listen to lyrics in songs like All of My Cigarettes and If it Wasn't for the Money. Wow!

Really like Josh Clark's "Jackson Hole" on here. Very soulful!

This show is soothing to listen to. Absolutely phenomenal. Stupendously beautiful.

Can't wait to see these guys tear it up at Bonarroo! Incredible show. I heard these guys about 6 months ago and i'm hooked. They are the next big thing.

Reviewer: Agricola - 5 out of 5 stars - February 8, 2005
Subject: Mellow musical goodness

I don't know exactly what to say about this show. Beautifully mellow rock. Superb performance, superb sound quality. This is one of the best shows I've heard from the archive. Coming from a Deadhead, that's saying a lot.

Dueling thank you thank you thank you for uploading this on here. And here's to Bob Cogswell for getting his ass out there and taping the show. What an amazing night!

Subject: AMAZING

First show I downloaded from these guys and already i've downloaded about 5 more. This is the only acoustic up on archive I think from these guys, but it's a rocker. If you like this you should definately check out their electric stuff

Reviewer: Jandl - 5 out of 5 stars - February 2, 2005
Subject: Stellar!

What can you say? These guys kick ass when they play electric, and now everyone can hear them do the same acoustic. Excellent setlist. Excellent recording for an acoustic show. If you haven't checked out Trevor Garrod's songwriting skills you are truly missing out on something special. This is a perfect, laid back show.
