Notes

A great show from the Sunset Tree era at the Knitting Factory in Manhattan. At various points in the show, John and Peter are joined by John Vanderslice on guitar, Erik Friedlander on cello, and various members of Shearwater.

During the transfer process, I used Audacity for normalization and split the tracks in Fission. I did not utilize any compression as I had with the July 2005 solo rooftop shows that I have previously shared.

When John Vanderslice and members of Shearwater fill out the band, the limitations of my microphones start to show, but the overall effect is not terribly offensive or unpleasant. At the end of the day, it appears that this may be the only recording of this show in existence, and I felt that it deserved to be documented, flaws and all.

Hopefully, I credited all the appropriate extra players correctly; I was going on my memory of a 3-year-old concert and what my ears were hearing in an imperfect recording. If anyone has any evidence that I’ve credited the musicians inaccurately, please bring it to my attention and I will alter this file accordingly.
